Airtel Uganda to open 537 agent kiosks countrywide in 15 days.

Airtel Uganda, under their 2015 ‘Happiness Continues’ campaign, has announced plans to expand the agent network around the country by establishing 537 new kiosks in the next 15 days.

This announcement comes just a few days after teams from Airtel Uganda visited different regions upcountry holding clinics and teaching customers how to use the different services that Airtel Uganda offers to improve their lives and their businesses.

The Airtel kiosks, most of which are going to be set up upcountry, will act as a one stop center for Airtel service solutions with Airtel Money being the major service that will be provided. Other services such as; SIM card purchases and registrations, data connectivity and consultations on all Airtel’s offerings will also be handled at the kiosks.

According to the Airtel Uganda Managing Director, Mr. Tom Gutjahr, “2015 is the year in which Airtel Uganda is actively seeking ways to promote the happiness of our customers, countrywide. We want to meet our subscribers’ needs, whatever they maybe.”

“By opening up more than 500 kiosks, we are answering requests that we have received from both our existing and potential customers across the country to bring our services closer to them. I encourage all Airtel subscribers to utilize these kiosks and enjoy the best that the network has to offer,” he added.

Over the past few years, Airtel Money features and functionalities have increased in line with Airtel’s goal of continually improving the consumer experience across their entire range of products and services. With improved functionalities such as; sending money across networks, paying utility bills, topping up your airtime and mobile data and withdrawing money from an Airtel Money agent or ATM, Airtel Money has made it easy for people to access and use their finances comfortably.

The continued upgrades to the Airtel Money platform and larger agent network ensure that customers now get wider access through nationwide agents and transact with one single code-*185#- to conveniently send and receive money across all networks at the lowest rates.

Airtel Uganda has also partnered with various service providers to ensure easy access to different services. Some of these partners include banks such as; Equity Bank, DFCU, Centenary Bank, Pride Microfinance and Opportunity Bank Uganda; Fuel stations such as; MOGAS and Total; Utility companies such as; UMEME and NWSC as well as TV subscriptions for DStv/GoTv, StarTimes, Zuku Tv and MoTv.
